We’ve been tinkering with a new template on a copy (unpublished) website. We’re just about to switch over, but I’ve noticed that none of the 40 blog posts from our current website are showing on the new one. Will we lose them all when we make the switch? Is there any way to back them up so we can add them again later?

        Hey Ann,

Thanks for the question, we’d be happy to help you with this. If you want to transition a blog from one website to another, you can submit a support request and someone will gladly help you with that.

        Cheers,
        Mike

Thanks for the info. Note, we are also doing an additional step, which is adding a new domain name to our web presence. What do you suggest the appropriate order is so as to bring the new site live and also add a new domain name?

            Hi @Ann-Karako ,

To clarify, do you plan to have two different domain names pointing to your new website? If so, which one will be the primary domain name?

            Thanks,
            Danny

@Danny-Eiden Thanks so much for all of your help, Danny – but we do have it all set up now. The new one is published, and we have three domain names pointing to it, with the one we want as primary. I replied to Markus on my support ticket, asking him to unpublish the old one. So I think we’re good! Thanks again, and sorry for any confusion! 🙂

                Hi @Ann-Karako,

I’m glad that Markus could help you finish setting everything up! Enjoy your site.

                Best,
                Danny

@Danny-Eiden Hey Danny, there is a new small glitch on the new website. Guess what? The blog DID transfer over after all! BUT WE NOW HAVE TWO OF THEM. LOL. Both seem identical to me, except for one the URL ends in /blog and for the other it ends in /blog1. I’ve tried to delete one or the other, but it won’t let me. I don’t want duplicate content due to the SEO hit that would cause. Can you delete one of them for me?

                    Hey Ann,

Sure thing, I’ve gone ahead and deleted the old empty blog located at “/blog1”. You should be good to go!

                    Cheers,
                    Mike
