Just curious, what is the purpose of the Tag Inquiry under Messages?

        Good Question.

I have no idea what it’s purpose was by design, but I did tinker with it a bit. I tend to be a hands-on learner.

I tried creating a tag for inquiries that I wanted to follow up with. But the tag alone doesn’t keep the “to do” item in front of me. I have to make a conscious effort to sort the list by tag and then take action. But the list doesn’t tend to stay sorted whenever I start working on a sublist, so it can become a big cumbersome.

I think you could use tags for any kind of grouping you wanted with the inquiries - might be a good thing to have a reservations too down the road. I see them much more useful for reservations than just inquiries (but then remember - I don’t know the original purpose).

You could tag - are they bringing a pet or service animal (to trigger a reminder to you for extra cleaning?)
Do they need extra towels, baby items, are they arriving late…

Anyone else using them consistently for anything?

As @Jenny-Oest mentioned, tags can be added to inquiries and used to filter your inquiry list. We added this with the intent that these tags could be used for a variety of things. Tagging things as “to do” or “requires followup” is one good use of tags. Another good use is lead assignment. If you have multiple users on your MyVR account, you can tag things as “Danny” or “Jon” to indicate that some leads are Danny’s responsibility to manage while others are Jon’s.

But the list doesn’t tend to stay sorted whenever I start working on a sublist

You should be able to sort the inquiries list and then use the “Search & Filters” area to search for inquiries with a tag while retaining the sort order you specified before. If this isn’t working for you, please contact us in the Support area of the dashboard or at https://myvr.com/contact/

Anyone else using them consistently for anything?

I would also love to hear if people have found other uses for tags!
