How do you set up the choice between a damage waiver or security deposit?

I’d like to offer my guests the option between a security deposit, or the $99 for $5k coverage damage waiver offered through HomeAway. I’m wondering the best way to do this.
I do know that I can send a guest an invitation to purchase the damage waiver after the booking, but wondering how others are handling this.

Hi @Jenny-Oest - if your HomeAway listing is managed by outside software like MyVR, then the HomeAway damage waiver is not an option for bookings generated from that listing.
MyVR does not currently have damage insurance integration at the time of booking, but as you mention, you can collect a fee and purchase damage protection post-booking. For anyone interested in a deeper insurance offering, please make sure to vote for that feature.

@Markus-Nordvik I haven’t been able to find ANY source where I can purchase the insurance on behalf of the guest. Do you have any suggestions? Everything I know is for guests to purchase.

@Jenny-Oest I believe something like Rental Guardian’s daily protection offering would cover your requirements, though they currently only work with property managers (not individual owners).
