We are looking into starting to accept checks as a way of lowering the hit we take on C.C. fees.

Has anyone else done this? Is it worth trying? Anyone have any experience or suggestions on how to proceed efficiently?

I have mixed feelings on if it will be worthwhile. Would love to hear some responses from people who currently allow checks and if they feel it is better than the C.C. fees

@Chad-Service - I accept eChecks ALL THE TIME! Probably more than 50% of my income is through eChecks, and they’re FREE through VacationRentPayment. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see this eCheck option added to MyVR, so if you would too - suggest it as a feature request! 🙂

In the meantime, you can contact Tony Maskill at Vacation Rent Payment (full disclosure: I get NO referral fees) and he can set you up.

        email: tmaskell@yapstone.com
        phone: (925) 407-8745

Note, however, that when taking eCheck payments, you have to process them yourself through their dashboard, but you can set up future automated payments, so it’s just one extra step.

I’ve been offering my guests the option to pay in full with a credit card, or use my eCheck Payment Plan, and most prefer the payments. I also have a blog article that I’ll send them if they want more info:

        i LOVE eChecks!

        Jenny
