MyVR currently has a blogging option, but I prefer to use WordPress for blogging. How do I link that into my website so that visitors can find it easily?

To link your WordPress Blog directly to your website, here are the key steps I used:

        Set up your WordPress Blog:

It’s ideal to have your WordPress Blog on a subdomain of your primary website. This will allow the traffic to “credit” toward the SEO for your primary domain, giving it more credibility with the search engines. You may need to have your domain host install WordPress to your subdomain before you get started if you’ve already redirected your website domain to MyVR.

        Edit your main website menu:

You’re going to want to add your Blog as a link on your primary menu. You’ll add this as an External Link.
        To do this:

        1. Go to Websites - My Websites - [your website] - Edit Design
        2. Click on Change next to Navigation.
        3. Select “External Link” and drag it to the desired position.
        4. Click on it to Edit (you may need to scroll to see the options appear).
          1. Change the Navigation Text to whatever label you want to appear.
          2. Enter your complete external link
          3. Suggest open in new window = yes.
        5. Save your changes!

        IMPORTANT TIPS:

You’ll want to make this link appear as though they are still within your website, so try to make your blog landing page consistent with the style of your main website.

I also recommend mirroring your main website menu as your blog menu. Use external links to allow them to immediately link back to any pages of your website from your blog.

        Hope this helps! - Jenny
