Solved Inserting a PDF Slideshow into a blog post.
-
I’d like to insert a PDF slideshow in a blog post I’m creating. I thought I could insert it with HTML code but I just don’t know how to bring it together. Anyone know how to do this?

@jenny-oest Most slide-show widgets use images rather than pdf files. The only widget I’m aware of that would use pdf documents would be flip-books. If your source material is definitely a pdf, you could google “pdf to flipbook online convertor” and I believe there are sites that will do this for you. The issue would be generating the embeddable html code for you to paste into your page (which I do believe these sites and programs will do also).
I know you can buy the program from the bitsdujur.com site. Someone else may know of a free one. I occasionally see them for free on the site giveawayoftheday.com but some of their other programs can be unreliable (it’s free so . . .).
Hope this helps!

Hi @Jenny-Oest I’d advice strongly against doing this. PDFs can be displayed different ways depending on the browser, plugins installed, and if its a mobile device. There is no standard - some may open up a PDF viewer, some may display it inline.
Instead I’d advise you to convert your PDF to an image and display that in the slide show. You could always have a link to the PDFs below.

@tristan-brotherton that’s what I’m trying to do, but the artist only gave me the images in the pdf format to post. I’m trying to reach him to get the photo pages but…it hasn’t been easy.

@Jenny-Oest then just run them through a convertor - like this: https://cloudconvert.com/pdf-to-jpg

@jenny-oest If each of the images will fit on the screen, take a snip of the image off of the screen and save it in the appropriate format. Then put them into your slideshow viewer widget. Another option is to print out the pdf images and scan them back in, cropping away what you don’t want and saving what you do want as a png, jpg etc…

@Jenny-Oest You could also download and install GIMP aka Graphic Image Manipulation Program. It is an open-source (and free) photo editor.
The program can convert .pdf files to .jpf, .jpeg, .png or pretty much anything else you want. I primarily use it to watermark and edit all my photo shoots, but I sometimes use it to convert to .pdf or convert from .pdf.

@tristan-brotherton Finally a free one that works! Others had small page limits requiring upgrades. Thank you! I’ve bookmarked this one!
