      Hi Myvr community, is it possible to add a custom discount code to the website when booking directly through our Myvr website? Many thanks in advance!

        @marriott-murdock - I’m not sure I understand exactly what you need to do. Do you want to apply an automatic discount to MyVR bookings, or are you looking to create a discount code for something else?

        There are discount codes you can set up, but as I understand them, you always have to book directly in order to use them. (Someone please correct me if I’m wrong about that?)

          Thanks Jenny, and yes, I was looking for ways to setup a discount code when booking directly through the website. Again, many thanks and hope your 2021 is off to a great start!

            @jenny-oest Hi Jenny, I think you have responded to a few of my questions, so you’re obviously an expert. Thank you! Can you tell me if I can have multiple payout accounts linked to different properties? I’m sorry if these are basic questions but I’m trying to separate income into separate accounts. Many thanks!

              @marriott-murdock you’ll want to post this question as a separate question in a separate thread so that others can easily find the info too.

              I believe you can. I don’t do that, but I’ll see how I would set it up and then can post an answer tomorrow in your new thread :).

                Marriot;

                Jenny is an excellent source for info and a great asset for all of us on the MyVR platform!!!

                As for discounts, what I have done is:

                On dashboard under
                “Properties” -
                “properties” -
                “Fees & Deposit” -
                “+Add a New Fee” name the new “fee” something like “Direct Book Discount”;
                then under “Fee Type” pick “other”;
                under “Fee Basis” pick from list that which fits your situation best; I use “Percentage of Rent”;
                under “Fee Amount” put in a negative number (example -10 for a 10% discount rate); under “Included by Default” pick which suits your situation (BUT I think if you click on “YES” than the discount would be applied to ALL bookings) *I leave it “OFF” and then manually select it when I want to give a discount;
                under “Include in Tax Calculation” pick “YES” or you will be collecting tax on the pre-discount amount;
                under “Optional Fee for Renter” I leave that in the “OFF” position.

                When done, hit the “Save Fee” button. Now whenever you want to give someone a discount, you simply build a “Quote” and from the drop down menu “Add New Fee”, find the Discount Fee you created and click on it and it will automatically adjust the rate, tax, etc and show on the Guests Quote to show that you’ve given the discount.

                Hope this makes sense and helps.

                Good luck,

                John 🙂

                  You can also create multiple Stripe accounts and multiple Booking Policies.

                  So, you might assign a property or properties to a booking policy and have Stripe set to payout to different accounts.

                  We do this to differentiate between our Short Term and California Statute Long Term rentals.

                  Ours are segmented into two different Booking Policies, connected to two Stripe accounts going to two different Bank accounts.

                  You can set up as many as you want. The only limit to doing this is your patience.
