What is the best way to keep track of guests that are wanting to be put on a waiting list for a specific property and specific dates? Do you create an inquiry for them? If the property gets a cancellation I would like to be able to search and easily find them. Thanks for the input.
We talked about this internally and think that Inquiries make the most sense. That way you can quickly fire off a quote with details if/when the property becomes available, but it doesn’t impact other metrics or operations elsewhere in the system.
You also are able to sort Inquiries by date added, we don’t have a filter or button for that action, but these URL strings would work to do that;
Most recent to least recent: https://account.myvr.com/account/#/messages/inquiries/?sort=created
Least recent to most recent: https://account.myvr.com/account/#/messages/inquiries/?sort=-created
I’m still interested in what other PMs think about this! I’ll post it in our Monday digest to gauge other responses.

An inquiry is one option but a tentative reservation is another option. That would allow you to see it on your calendar all the time, but you’d have to ignore the overlap warnings. But if there is a cancellation, you’ll have the tentative right in front of you.
The problem with the inquiry is that it doesn’t give you a mechanism to differentiate from inquiries that have not made a similar request, and after some time you might forget.
Thank you @Jenny-Oest!
