Hey @Ann-Karako - You may have already figured this one out already, but I want to confirm that generally owner-initiated reservations function the same as any direct-booking put into MyVR.
The only real difference is that you have the choice as the PM to allow the owners to book their property at their sole discretion, or require approval by you. This setting is located in Settings > Back Office > Owner Management.
Otherwise, all message automations will flow through this reservation as they would any other reservation!
@gary-swarberg - are you also cancelling the reservation? If so, when you choose to cancel, there will be a switch you can toggle that asks you if you want to refund all payments. If you say yes, it will cancel AND refund the payments.

You can accomplish this using basic calendar synchronization. Just go to Channels -> Calendar Only -> (Install Basic Calendar Synchronization if needed) -> Open -> New Connection. From there you can set up basic calendar synchronization and the export is specifically what you will want to set up. Once set up, you should have a calendar link (or links) that you can provide to your housekeeper.

Owners can see the difference between reserved and blocked dates
Owners can, depending on your settings, reserve dates without paying for a reservation
