What I am looking for is the Revenue which was 'earned' by a particular property in a month (sum total of the amount collected by the bookings for that month)
The Revenue by Stay Dates report should get you that number. It is the total non-refundable value of all reservations within a date range (e.g. a month). You can view this total per-property in the report.
One caveat, however, is that the Revenue by Stay Dates report will round the monthly revenue numbers to the nearest dollar. Also, this report will include all non-refundable money in a reservation even if it hasn't been collected yet. That means scheduled and overdue payments will be counted in this report.
Another thing to note is that if a reservation has stay dates across months (e.g. a June 29 to July 9), the Revenue by Stay Dates report will allocate money to each month by the percent of the stay in each month. For example
Reservation Dates: June 29 to July 9
Reservation Total Nonrefundable Value: $100
Nights in June: 2
Nights in July: 8
Percent of Nights in June: 20%
Percent of Nights in July: 80%
Revenue by Stay Dates in June: $20
Revenue by Stay Dates in July: $80
If I understand you correctly, you are looking to create a report that will have the reservation information for all reservations with a check in date between an earliest and latest date. While you can't select a latest check in date, you can select an earliest check in date and a latest check out date before exporting reservation data.
This should narrow down the export to roughly the range you are looking for. Once you have the CSV file, you can sort the rows by the check in date and remove any rows at the end that have check in dates past the latest check in date that you desire in the report. This should leave you with only the reservations that have a check in date between an earliest and latest date.
If you simply desire the total number of reservations with a check in date between an earliest and a latest check in date, you can still follow the steps I described above to create the spreadsheet. Once you've done this, you can look at the row number of the last filled-in row of the sheet. Subtract one from that number (for the sheet's header), and you should get the total number of reservations with a check in date between an earliest date and latest date.
Finally, you can also purchase a reservation data import service (we're happy to do a custom export instead of an import) through us to generate the report you desire.
Right now, the export options under Setup > API & Data Access > Manual Export are MyVR's only options for retrieving your data as a spreadsheet. Other options for retrieving reservation data include using our API and purchasing our Reservation Data Import Service. We might be able to negotiate doing an export instead of an import for the service, but we would need to investigate and discuss this option with you.
