@jenny-oest - thank you. On Airbnb we review most guests good and bad. During the summer we have had some really awful guests and we are trying to weed them out. Too much disruption, damage and time spent sorting out during stay and post departure. At least with Airbnb the platform is more transparent.
Thank you for reaching out. To avoid a renewal you just need to cancel the FlipKey listing. You can do that by going to Channels > Full Integration > FlipKey for Owners > then click on the property and use the Listing Actions dropdown menu to cancel the listing. Thanks for reaching out about this. There currently is no way to tell when an Airbnb guest is bringing a pet. The best thing to do for now would be to ask guests whether they intend on bringing a pet. Unfortunately Airbnb does not support pet fees at this time.
I entered the state tax and Gatlinburg Accommodation Tax as separate fees under MyVR “Property” edit “Rental Fees.” I left the state tax as a “tax” under Fee Type. I entered the Gatlinburg Accommodation Tax as “Other” under Fee Type.
@wendy-gold - I work around that another way by just saying “The best available total for your stay is attached.” or "The best available total for your stay is $X.XX (MY PRICE). This does not include any service fees added by the listing site you are using for your search. " I found with so many properties, I can’t log into VRBO dashboard for every quote to see what the service fee will be. - Jenny
Those are great questions! You can choose the HomeAway cancellation/refund policy in the booking policy editor under the the “Channel Overrides” section. If you do not specify a HomeAway refund policy then your HomeAway listings will default to a “No Refunds” policy. Any refunds due to a HomeAway guest after a cancellation must be issued manually from your MyVR account.
I just wanted to bump this thread and say that Airbnb just released support for per stay fees and we’ve implemented that new functionality. There are no steps needed on your part to include those per stay fees as they’ll get picked up when Airbnb pulls your listing next.
